由於PVC本身是硬質的物料，添加塑化劑後，可使得塑膠成品具有柔軟、易於彎曲、摺疊、彈性佳的性質而易於塑形，也因此黏性較PE保鮮膜為佳。此外，女性經常使用之香水、指甲油等化粧品，則以鄰苯二甲酸酯類作為定香劑，以保持香料氣味，或使指甲油薄膜更光滑。
